Release date:: January 2007 Title:: Mictlan Catalog:: ISO. 12 CD AeQuo is the creation of Jawad Nawfal and Victor Bresse. AeQuo began producing several years back after having organized music events in Lebanon and later focusing their attention on putting together their own studio and creating their own sounds. Their work is a harsh mixture of post DnB angst, IDM, Breakore, and noise. It is dark and evil, yet is also composed with a overall sense of structure not often found in purely chaotic noise. A moody and chilling sensibilty prevails in this destraught landscape. From deep caves dripping of dark ambience to dynamically extreme rhythms and intense tones, AeQuo brings listeners deep seeded spirits and emotion lost in todays often shallow sounds of electronic music. There is a surrounding sense in the album that in many ways resembles the unique and sometimes contrasting environment in which AeQuo's home, Beiruit and Lebanon, are a part of. A modern creation that is enveloped by the past and exists within beautiful, yet turbulent surroundings. A crossroad of cultures and sounds that is a mixture of seeming opposites. A world full of vibrant life, contact and beauty that is balanced by violent strife, disconnect and pain... |
